This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced business partner to lean on their generalist P&C skills and their passion for L&D.
The People & Culture Business Partner - L&D plays a pivotal role in aligning our P&C initiatives with the strategic goals of USU. As a trusted advisor, you will partner with departments such as Marketing and Student Experience, providing comprehensive P&C support while driving Learning & Development initiatives across the organisation. You will be instrumental in coaching managers, enhancing organisational capabilities, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
With your expertise, you will contribute to the development of high-performing teams, manage employee relations, and lead the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring that we attract top talent to our teams. You will also be responsible for identifying training needs, developing impactful L&D programs, and fostering an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your primary accountabilities will consist of:
- Partnering with stakeholders across the Marketing and Student Experience departments to deliver effective P&C services.
- Building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and providing strategic P&C support.
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment process and ensuring onboarding best practices.
- Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of L&D programs that align with organisational objectives.
- Coordinating a yearly L&D calendar, including mandatory compliance training.
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning through coaching, mentoring, and tailored development solutions.
- Providing advice on employee relations, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Taking a coaching approach to enable line managers to excel in their responsibilities for all aspects of people management.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Degree qualifications in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in designing and delivering learning solutions.
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and providing development advice to managers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships.
- Proficiency in using a Learning Management System (LMS) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to understand and interpret industrial instruments.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with issues in a confidential and sensitive manner.
- Ability to establish trust and build strong relationships and work collaboratively.
- The ability to work effectively with varying levels of workload and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work unsupervised, exercise initiative, and articulate issues.
- Positive energy and a ‘can do’ attitude, and a team player.
- A self-starter who is adaptable and open to change.
HOURS OF WORK
This is a Permanent Full Time position, 35 hours per week.
