A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with HR Management to support the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. You will also have the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships, assist with maintaining a positive work environment, and ensure employee progression & engagement. Other responsibilities include:
- Be a culture ambassador and employee advocate
- Assist HR Director and hiring managers with full life cycle recruiting efforts including job postings, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews using an ATS
- Oversee the onboarding process, conduct new hire orientations and exit interviews, and administer employee data via HRIS system
- Assist in communication and interpretation of employee handbook, benefits, policies and procedures
- Update and maintain job descriptions and employee handbook
- Support HR related engagement activities to include training programs, committees, rewards, workshop, and seminars
- Process background checks and drug screenings
- Support employees with benefit related questions, claim discrepancies, and conflict resolution
- Oversee sensitive and /or confidential employee information and provide excellent customer service to all employees
- Assist with the annual and quarterly review process using the automated performance management system
- Perform special projects as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- 2+ years of Human Resources (HR) experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution environment a plus
- Experience with full life cycle recruiting
- PHR/SHRM certification preferred
- Previous experience with employee benefit plan administration
- Human Resources Information System (HRIS) knowledge, Paychex a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Internal and external customer service experience
- Excellent communication and people skills, cultural awareness
- Aptitude to problem solve and thorough knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and employment law
- Stong attention to detail, good organizational skills with ability to prioritize
- Capable of handling multiple projects independently and good troubleshooting skills
