We now have a fantastic part-time opportunity for an experienced human resources Assistant to provide administrative and operational support for our Director of People & Culture across the full lifecycle of the employee experience, as well as get involved in some exciting people initiatives. This is a full generalist role, where no two days are the same and never dull!
We’re looking for someone who is super organised, full of initiative and thrives in a fast-faced environment. The working hours are ideally 09:00 to 13:00 (flexible four hours per day), Monday to Friday. Key Areas of Activity
- Provide first line advice and guidance for employees and managers on People policy and procedure, escalating queries the Director of People & Culture where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.
- Assist in all recruitment activities, including posting job ads, initial screening, coordinating interviews, keeping the ATS up to date.
- Draft employment contracts and conduct all onboarding activities, background checks and induction preparation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll exceptions and HR metric reports.
- Maintain accurate employee absence records and documentation e.g. contract variations, appraisals.
- Assist in the organisation of people initiatives and engagement activities including surveys, social events and charity fundraisers.
- Monitor and maintain the Learning Management Systems ensuring completion of compliance training.
- Administration of all leaver actions and documentation.
- Maintenance of up-to-date People policies, business procedures and forms in the Business Process Directory.
About you
- Experienced administrator, with at least one year working within a busy HR function.
- Basic understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice and GDPR.
- Familiarity with payroll processes advantageous.
- Computer literate and competent in using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of using a HRIS and, or Applicant Tracking software,
- Highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task, manage own workload and meet periodic deadlines.
- Conscientious, with a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality and integrity.
- Curious, willing to learn and committed to continuous operational efficiency.
