HR Manager – Odyssey Entertainment Group

Position Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to lead all aspects of people operations. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, ensuring the company’s continued growth through effective recruitment, employee engagement, training, and organizational development. The HR Manager will play a critical role in shaping Odyssey’s culture, fostering career development, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline for key roles across all departments.
- Create and oversee an engaging onboarding process that integrates new hires into the company culture and ensures job readiness.
- Develop and manage the entire onboarding process, including system setup, training, and cultural integration.
- Manage offboarding, including exit interviews, IT access termination, and knowledge transfer processes.
Policy & Internal Communications:
- Lead internal communication efforts, ensuring transparency on policies, company updates, and goals.
- Manage policy reminders.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and communications on internal processes.
Travel & Expense Management:
- Oversee employee travel, including booking, itineraries, and reimbursements.
- Implement and manage the company’s travel and expense policy.
- Ensure timely review and approval of expense reports while maintaining budget controls.
Bonuses & Commission Payouts:
- Calculate and oversee all employee bonuses and commission payouts based on performance goals and company policies.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Maintain records of performance-based incentive payments and provide quarterly reporting to leadership.
IT & Systems Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and IT providers for troubleshooting technical issues.
- Manage system access for all employees, including onboarding setup and offboarding termination.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR systems such as payroll, performance tracking, and project management tools like Podio and ShareFile.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Act as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for all employee-related matters.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative company culture that aligns with Odyssey’s values.
- Develop and execute team-building events, retreats, and wellness programs.
- Lead quarterly team surveys and implement actionable strategies based on feedback.
- Notify team members of personnel changes, including new hires, promotions, and departures.
- Lead the chair program initiative for team members
Internship Program Management:
- Develop and oversee the company’s internship program, ensuring interns gain meaningful, hands-on experience.
- Partner with colleges and universities to maintain a steady pipeline of intern candidates.
- Manage intern onboarding, training, and project assignments across departments.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for interns and manage transition plans for high-potential interns.
Performance Management & Development:
- Oversee performance review processes, including semi-annual and annual evaluations.
- Collaborate with department heads on SMART goal setting, IDPs, and career progression plans.
- Identify learning and development needs, creating tailored training programs and leadership development workshops.
- Provide coaching for managers on leadership, conflict resolution, and team development.
- Manage and execute Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), ensuring clear expectations and timelines.
Workforce Planning & Organizational Development:
- Work closely with leadership to forecast hiring needs and ensure team scalability.
- Develop career progression frameworks and succession plans.
- Lead efforts to ensure balanced workloads across departments and manage team resourcing.
- Track HR metrics such as retention, turnover, and hiring speed to inform business strategies.
Compliance & Legal:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal labor laws and company policies.
- Manage contractor agreements, employment contracts, NDAs, and personnel files.
- Conduct policy audits and lead internal investigations as needed, ensuring confidentiality and legal compliance.
- Update and maintain the employee handbook and company policies regularly.
Compensation & Benefits:

- Develop and implement employee rewards, recognition programs, and incentive plans.
HR Tech & Process Management:
- Implement and manage HR management systems (e.g., performance tracking, onboarding tools).
- Oversee seamless integration of HR platforms with project management tools like Podio and ShareFile.
- Develop and manage automated workflows for processes like time-off requests and performance reviews.
Learning & Development:
- Design and deliver leadership development workshops for managers and executives.
- Identify external training or development resources when needed.
Culture & Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI):
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the organization.
- Develop DEI hiring practices and company-wide initiatives promoting a culture of belonging.
- Lead internal mentorship and employee engagement programs that support career growth.
Employer Branding & External Relations:
- Build a strong employer brand through an engaging careers page.
- Represent Odyssey at recruitment events, industry conferences, and university career fairs.
- Partner with industry organizations to build a steady talent pipeline.
PTO & Coverage Management:
- Oversee the company’s PTO policy and time-off tracking system.
- Work closely with the Director of Talent to ensure appropriate team coverage during scheduled absences.
- Notify managers of upcoming PTO requests and coordinate coverage plans.
- Regularly update and communicate time-off policies and processes to all team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in the creative, entertainment, or media industries.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
