Position Summary
The Executive Director, Human Resources (EDHR) reports to the CEO and is the head of HR. The EDHR is responsible for strategic and hands-on tactical implementation of all responsibilities relating to human resources, such as talent acquisition; compensation, benefits and leave of absence administration; compliance; employee relations; performance management; HRIS administration; and employee development, engagement and retention. The EDHR develops programs and processes that support the Company corporate objectives and drive employee engagement and retention. The EDHR is a trusted confidant and thought partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. The EDHR is a strategic thinker capable of providing hands-on HR guidance and support to company leadership and employees. Essential Job Functions And Duties
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and programs that support the corporate objectives of the company
- Develop, lead, and administer compensation and benefits programs ensuring competitiveness and equity
- Drive the talent acquisition strategy and resources to attract and retain top talent; perform and oversee recruiting efforts
- Manage employee retention and engagement programs and recommend improvements and new initiatives
- Lead and manage the performance management process; work with managers to identify and address performance issues
- Consult, advise and coach executive leadership in HR people and organizational matters
- Collaborate with leaders on organizational design and implementation and recommend and develop programs to promote employee development
- Monitor employee engagement and develop HR programs that evaluate and maintain engagement
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations and employment law
- Manage all HR systems, including maintenance, data analysis, reports, and knowledge of systems
- Address and resolve employee relations issues and conduct employee investigations as necessary
- Perform hands-on, day-to-day HR administration such as managing recruiting; hiring and onboarding new employees; developing, updating and communicating procedures and policies; performing benefits and leave of absence administration; ensuring legal compliance; and providing daily assistance as may be needed
- Collaborate closely with the Accounting & Finance department on payroll and people-related budget and expenses
- Closely participate in the Safety Committee initiatives and manage the Company workers’ compensation insurance and reporting
- Participate as an active member of the executive leadership team
- Monitor the HR department budget and resources
- Perform other responsibilities as business needs require
Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field
- Minimum 12 years of related experience with 5 years in an HR leadership role
- Prior experience in the life sciences industry preferred
- HRCI or SHRM certification preferred
- Extensive and broad knowledge in HR functional areas and legal compliance
- Demonstrated leader willing to be hands-on and strategically focused
- Strong business acumen and ability to articulate information to others
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to extensively collaborate, as well as lead, drive and execute independently
- Capable of building trusting relationships with leaders and employees and operating with a high level of integrity
- Advanced attention to detail, sound judgment, adaptability and initiative

The position is based in San Diego, CA and is mainly on-site; a portion of the job duties may be performed remotely.
Compensation & Benefits
Radionetics has a competitive total compensation package that includes bonus opportunity; equity; medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) annually; and generous paid holidays.
Pay Range: $245,000 - $295,000
Radionetics evaluates a variety of factors in determining individual pay decisions, which may include relevant education, experience, and skills; internal equity; complexity and responsibility of the role; and market demand relative to the position. Geographic location may also be a consideration in evaluating salary when candidates work in states outside of California.
