HR Manager

Location: London-based (with weekly travel to other sites - Uxbridge)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

An exciting and rapidly expanding company is currently seeking a proactive and self-starting HR Manager to join their team during a period of growth and transformation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either CIPD qualified or in the process of completing their qualification, with a passion for taking ownership of all aspects of HR within a fast-paced environment.

As HR Manager, you will report directly to the Finance Director and will be responsible for the entire HR process, from recruitment and administration to advising management on employee relations, retention strategies, and training & development plans.

This position offers a unique challenge within an SME environment, with the opportunity to drive impactful change across multiple sites in London and Uxbridge.

You will be working in a hands-on, stand-alone role, integrating seamlessly with the business to deliver real, tangible value.

Main Responsibilities:

Generalist HR Functions: Manage all HR processes including absence management, employee handbook updates, onboarding, and managing the HR system (Bamboo). You will liaise with auditors and handle any required audits from various bodies.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Oversee the full recruitment cycle, from screening candidates to conducting interviews, managing reference checks, preparing contracts, and continuously improving the recruitment process to ensure top talent is brought in.
Training & Development: Lead training initiatives including apprenticeship programmes, induction processes, cyclical training, and succession planning. You'll manage personal development plans and annual reviews to support employee growth.
Employee Relations & Competency: Stay up-to-date with employment law to advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance management, and engagement.
Employee Engagement: Foster an inclusive and collaborative work culture by supporting management in team integration, coordinating company-wide communication, and organising social, charitable, and employee engagement events.
Communication: Display integrity and transparency in all dealings, ensuring employees have clear access to information and a defined path for resolving HR queries.

Requirements:

Someone who wants to be in the office. This company is very operational so a large majority of the business are in 5 days a week. We want someone who likes being in the office and who likes being visible.
Proven experience as a HR generalist, with hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, and process management.
Demonstrable ability to work autonomously, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust your communication style to different audiences and engage with employees at all levels.
Proactive, self-starter with a positive approach to challenges and a desire to add real value to the company’s HR function.

Desirable:

CIPD or equivalent qualification.
Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or construction sectors (or a business with a mix of office and warehouse/field-based employees).
