The Talent Acquisition Specialist will drive an efficient, professional, and comprehensive recruitment service to secure and retain top talent aligned with Applus’ goals. As the first point of contact for candidates and hiring managers, this role will focus on fulfilling staffing needs with a proactive, long-term recruitment strategy. Key aspects include developing sourcing strategies, strengthening employer branding, and building talent pipelines to support the organisation's growth.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Management
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
- Implement strategic sourcing methods, including employer branding initiatives and proactive candidate outreach via LinkedIn and other channels.
- Partner with recruitment agencies when needed, negotiating terms to meet hiring goals effectively.
Candidate Screening & Selection
- Create job descriptions and interview guides tailored to each role.
- Review applications, conduct initial screenings, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Assess and shortlist candidates using our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and manage relevant candidate communications throughout the hiring process.
Recruitment Coordination & Candidate Experience
- Manage interview scheduling, coordinate diaries, and prepare necessary materials for hiring managers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants, ensuring a positive and professional experience from the first interaction.
- Provide timely updates to candidates regarding their application status, fostering a positive experience.
Operational Efficiency & Reporting
- Maintain vacancy files, track recruitment progress through our internal tracking system and ATS, and monitor the effectiveness of sourcing channels.
- Generate reports on resourcing activities and communicate metrics to the Head of HR.
- Set up and manage personnel files, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for pre-employment checks, right-to-work documentation, and onboarding.
Market Research & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct market research and benchmark salaries to ensure Applus remains competitive in talent attraction.
- Develop and refine recruitment procedures, ensuring seamless and effective recruitment processes.
- Attend job fairs and recruitment events to expand the candidate pipeline and promote Applus’ employer brand.
Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Commitment
- Actively support Applus’ HSEQ standards by advocating for safe practices and building positive client and supplier relationships.
- Participate in HSEQ initiatives, helping maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume recruitment.
- Proficiency with Windows applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and effective communication with senior management, clients, and candidates.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) practices.
- CIPD or REC certification in recruitment.
