What You’ll Do:
As the Director of Talent Management, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing talent frameworks that align with our organization's goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in job architecture, competency management, succession planning, and career pathing, coupled with a deep understanding of HR best practices. Your leadership will drive transformative change within our dynamic organization, fostering a culture of continuous growth and development. You will spearhead the establishment and evolution of the Talent Management Center of Excellence, positioning it as a key driver of strategic talent initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and development of the Talent Management Center of Excellence, establishing it as a hub for best practices, tools, and resources that enhance talent management across the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust talent management framework that includes competency models by job family/level, including competencies, behaviors, experiences, and skills.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive job architecture system that clearly outlines job families and levels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop a succession planning strategy and process that includes talent profiles, assessment methodologies, talent reviews, and bench strength. Collaborate with our People Advocates to ensure successful execution.
- Build and enhance career development framework and tools, including skills assessments, career planning guides, progression pathways, and internal mobility initiatives.
- Act as a trusted consultant to People Development Partners, advising on tailored People Development strategies for various business units to optimize talent development.
- Report to and Partner with the Senior Director of Organizational Design to support organizational design and workforce planning initiatives, ensuring optimal organizational structures and alignment of talent with business priorities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on talent strategies and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Who You Are:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, talent management, competency development, succession planning or a similar role
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective talent management frameworks and programs.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrates core company values, including vision, grit, agility, generosity, openness, and wholeheartedness.
NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only: In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
