We’re looking for a People & Operations Manager who can flex and thrive in two lanes:
- People Ops: payroll, benefits, recruiting, culture programs
- Billing Ops: subscription changes, Stripe/ACH reconciliations, A/R follow-up

Hive is headquartered in NYC, with employees working across the world. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of at least 3 days/week in the Manhattan office.
Why this role matters
As our dedicated People & Operations Manager, you’ll run payroll, benefits, and recruiting while ensuring subscription changes, Stripe/ACH reconciliations, and overdue-invoice follow-ups flow smoothly into Finance.
What you’ll do
People & HR (≈ 60 %)
- Run bi-weekly payroll and administer benefits, 401(k), and employee stock option grants.
- Maintain compliance with federal, NYS, and international employment laws; manage employee records and HRIS data integrity.
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for GTM, Product, and Engineering roles—job posts, screening, scheduling, offers.
- Drive culture initiatives: offsites, swag, DEI programming, and hybrid-office rituals.
- Keep the Manhattan HQ humming: office supplies, visitor logistics, and landlord/vendor relationships.
Finance, Billing & Ops (≈ 40 %)
- Own customer subscription changes in our billing system (upgrades, renewals, credits, refunds) and first-line finance/billing questions with our customers.
- Reconcile Stripe/ACH payouts, monitor overdue invoices, and surface anomalies to Finance.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff on ad-hoc ops projects—budget tracking, vendor onboarding, contract renewals, and KPI reporting.
Key Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience in an office setting, preferably with experience in an HR and Operations role
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with a keen eye for details
